Location: Ballarat, Victoria Year Completed: 2027 The redevelopment of the Ballarat Base Hospital has reached a new milestone, with the central energy plant and support services (CEPSS) building reaching its maximum height. The CEPESS will provide power, heating, and cooling to the redeveloped hospital. As part of the stage 2 development, Colair are supplying 6 Double Skin Heat Recovery Units (HRUs) with Enthalpy Heat Recovery Wheel’s and 3 Double Skin Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs) with Sensible Plate Heat Exchanger’s. Expansion of the Ballarat Base Hospital represents a $595 Million dollar investment from the Victorian Government into the Grampians health system. The redevelopment will deliver a new emergency department, a women and children’s hub, state-of-the-art theatre suite and an extra 100 inpatient and short stay beds. These new facilities provide for an additional capacity to treat at least 18,000 more emergency patients and an extra 14,500 inpatients each year. Construction of the third and final stage is expected to be completed in 2027. |
